Foodie Book Club

Sunday, March 8
3:00 p.m.
Meeting Rooms 1 & 2

Whether you're crazy about cooking or burn water when boiling, you're welcome to join us for some tasty talk. A month in advance we'll announce what library-owned cookbook we'll work from.

This month's selection is Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat by Samin Nostrat. Stop by the library desk to pick up a copy of the book. Select a recipe to try and bring your culinary adventure to the meeting to share, pot-luck style, with fellow foodies!

We'll stir up some videos, booklists, and more to highlight the food, history, culture, and techniques featured in our selection.

Registration is required; click here to reserve your spot at the table!

Book vs. Movie Club

Tuesday, March 3
7:00 p.m.
Cinemark Altoona & HD

Join us as we debate which is better, the book or the movie!

This month for Book vs. Movie Club, we'll be discussing the book The Call of the Wild by Jack London and the new movie with the same name starring Harrison Ford.

How to attend:

Read the book. Pick up a hard copy at the library today. Digital copies are also available to download or stream at Hoopla or Bridges.

Watch the movie, on your own, in a theater. It will be showing at the Cinemark Altoona & HD starting February 20.

Come to the book club for a discussion about the book, including how it compares to the movie.

Note: Having seen the movie is not a requirement to attend - spoilers will occur, however.

No registration required. Adults only please. Popcorn will be provided.

From March 17 through May 3, the library is closed.

We will not be accepting returns, holds, MOBIUS, or ILL requests during this time. Items currently out will not accrue overdue fines.
